What does a guidance counselor do?

A guidance counselor serves in many roles within the school, but primarily works with students to assist them with academic, career, personal, social, and emotional concerns.

My goal

My goal as your guidance counselor is to support students, parents, teachers, and school leaders. God has gifted each one of us with a variety of skills, talents, and interests. I want to help each student, parent, and faculty member figure out what those are, how to utilize them (in and out of the classroom) and how we can better assist each other in every situation to be as successful as possible.

GPA

What is a GPA?

A GPA is a grade point average. It is calculated at the end of every semester. Each letter grade (A, B, C, F) has an assigned point value. At Benton, we use a standard scale that is as follows:

A=4.0 (90-100)

B=3.0 (80-90)

C=2.0 (70-80)

F=0.0 (69-below)
